Summer is over, the holiday families have gone ( thank heavens ! ). Its September, it's a glorious Monday, its tranquil. And....its quiet! A day in East Devon has to start with a stroll around our favourite town of Topsham, a wonderful place full of lovely houses and gardens and exquisite estuary views. Often walk past this pub, but only the 2nd time we have ventured in. Only had a coffee and a flapjack which were both good but the pub garden is situated right next to the river and is stunning. Food menu looks extensive and very yummy. Social distancing well organised and the service was pleasant and friendly.

Great pub serving excellent food in nice riverside location. Their car park is full of tables now which is probably a good thing! Park in town and walk down is probably best. Wide range of beers and a variety of food inc sandwiches. Highly recommended.

Great location, right by the estuary. My wife had the gluten free crab sandwich, the gluten free bread was top notch. My wife said it was the one of the best gluten free rolls she's ever had. I had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the batter was excellent. All well priced. A lovely village pub in a lovely village.

We had a very lovely lunch here on Monday. The food was excellent (I had vegetarian cauliflower and my husband had the burger) and the service was some of the best we've received for a long time. The cosy interior is warm and inviting too. Highly recommended!
