The Lympstone Clock Tower actually comes pretty handy as a historical site; it would tell the time from a fair distance - to those on the train. The Clock Tower has inspired me with making plans for one of my first watercolour postcards two years ago. I sketched it from on the pier, as well as sketching the houses nearby.

Beautiful little spot by the river, made for a lovely sunny spot for a sit down and drink on the pier. The views across the Ex estuary was to die for.

Landmark Trust holiday let with fantastic views of the estuary. Querky and fun inside but you have to like spiral stairs and bunk beds!

Anyone who says this is a good place to stay is pretentious! It is so small and uncomfortable, the stairs are difficult, seats uncomfortable, bunk beds clostrofobic. The only good thing is the view.
