I passed this restaurant many times but when I looked at the menu it sounded too posh for me. Yesterday I finally decided to give it a try so I discovered another gem. The menu looked and sounded fancy but I got over it. The food was perfectly cooked and presented and, after starter, main and dessert I felt right (not hungry, not stuffed). No, is not cheap because is not McDonald's (not even that is cheap anymore) but it was totally worth it.

Wonderful meal. Fresh Brill with cockles. Seafood cooked to perfection. Exciting pudding of pannacotta with raspberries and basil. Very unusual combination. Staff very friendly. Would recommend
The lovely team at Saveur should open a sister restaurant in North Devon! This is exactly what I want from a restaurant experience. Simple ingredients used to maximum effect. Innovative cooking without anything being overwrought. I had the fillet steak which is as good as any I've had from top end steak specialists. A beautiful monkfish starter and a great selection of cheeses all slid down perfectly with some fantastic wines. Can't wait to go back.
