Came to Exmouth for a walk and lunch so wanted a pub in the front and this had a great rating - it didn’t disappoint. Lovely location, slightly set back from the front with a great front garden facing south. Warm greeting showed us to our place - nice open fire. There were about 3-4 other couples on a very quiet day on the front. Limited but good beer options with Young’s bitter and a pale ale. Limited but very good food options - we had a ‘special’ plaice with fish and chips plus a couple of beers and a wine. Quality of service was excellent and quick. We felt safe with COVID precautions. Really nice food with interesting vegetables to go with the plaice and homemade tartar sauce!! Cost for single course and drinks for 2 was 48, so by no means cheap, but good quality. Overall fully recommended as a quality food pub - worth the money..

Love this pub. Its expensive but worth it. Views over the estuary are fabulous from the terrace. We'll kept cellar and great food. Staff are friendly and attentive. On a sunny day its perfect.
Considering the current COVID restrictions, we had a very enjoyable lunch and drinks. Using the app was simple and both drinks and food arrived in good time. There has in been some obvious investment recently which has created a nice garden atmosphere. The staff deserve particular mention, calm, polite and friendly.
We decided to meet some friends who we haven't seen since before Christmas so decided to go now rather than wait until May when we could sit inside. It was good to see plenty of outdoor seating but not enough patio heaters, we had to rely on blankets. But what spoilt it for us was that we had to use the app to order food and drink. Instead of us talking and catching up we all had to spend time logging into the app and deciding what to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful but we couldn't see why they couldn't give us a menu and take our order.
I been to The Grove for the first time in 2014, with my housemates, the year I moved to Exmouth. I been there from time to time and had a drink there. I went there with my all housemates for a traditional three course Christmas meal, on Christmas Day, Friday 25th December 2020, the year all stayed back, as the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic restrictions meant that none of them were able to visit families/ friends/ 'loved ones'.
Only went in for a drink. Well organised with outdoor Covid 19 procedures. Prompt service great views of the estuary. Would return.
Rang to say we were running late to get the response of "so?" Bit odd but still turned up. Menu wasn't really anything amazing and very over priced...expected mussels as advised on website. Had issues with the track and trace thing but no offer of actually manually taking our details until one member of our party got frustrated and asked member of staff to do so. App didn't work on phone and no one came over once to see if we were okay after about 10/15 minutes so we just got up and left. Giving 2 stars because seemed a nice location and well decorated etc.
The food, amazing! The service, amazing! In short despite the restrictions going on and required, everyone here still did ana zing job and provided great friendly service and perfect drink orders too, many thanks everyone!
