I love this store I have been shopping here for years. So I feel saddened to bring this to the public attention. I came in last Friday and a young fit man no older then 17 years old was helping me out and didn’t have his mask up. I would have assumed since everything that has happened with the owner Pickering would have a better hold on there employees and covid. I did notice tho that he was the only employee to not follow the CDC guidelines in wearing a mask. I am writing this to hope bring the attention to the owner or a manager to discuss with this young man about the safety of covid.

Love this place. Got my pet rabbit from here and we get his food, litter, treats and more all the time. The workers are friendly and there's a great selection of stuff

TL;DR - Great store; certain staff need to take COVID seriously. Masks are a must, not a loophole to be skirted. I've been coming here for nearly 20 years, and they truly have a wonderful selection & for the most part, a kind, knowledgeable staff. However, at least one employee today was wearing her mask around her chin, completely exposing nose/mouth. I expected her to pull it up once we were in range of each other, but she merely glanced at me and went on about her business as if nothing were amiss. I mentioned it to another staff member; I am unsure if anything will come of it. Nearly 200,000 people have perished from this disease, and its negligent behavior like this which continues to allow its' spread. Especially given the senior populace in the are, this is not acceptable. I get it, masks are irritating, etc. But this is a non-negotiable safety issue that must be taken seriously; much akin to a seat belt. 1 star is undeserved, the store IS great, but this behavior needs to be corrected quickly & effectively. Ill happily change to a 5 if assurances are made this will not happen again.

We got our sweet bunny from there a few weeks ago. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The kids always ask to stop by to see the animals. My only complaint is that there is a very small section for small animal products, but they have so many other things that it makes sense. There are plenty of items for dogs, which was great for us when we had one. We also buy plants there--many to choose from--and once again the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
