Now one of my favourite places to visit

When visiting family in the area, we always make sure we spend an evening getting some local fish and chips and coming down to the harbour to enjoy the food, followed by a walk around. We have two young boys who love wandering around looking at the boats and laughing at the seagulls! We have once been here during the day too and used the cafe which is nice during the day to have a quiet brew, especially if its nice and you can sit outside!

Why the RNLI withdrew their support for this service beggars belief. Thankfully the locals have kept the service going so if you're up here make a donation and help to keep it going.

I find it astounding that someone rated this incredible service at less than 5 stars. Having taken a tour around the station at the weekend I was amazed at what has been achieved since the RNLI decided to pull out. As a scuba diver, the knowledge that the boat is there is an incredible comfort, every time you throw yourself in the water. A huge thank you to the men and women that give up their time to make this work.

Worth a visit. Independent lifeboat, not part of the RNLI
