Received the covid-19 vaccine at Fairfax County Health Department in Annandale Virginia. It was a very efficient process always maintaining the covid-19 precautions. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and the whole experience took about 30 minutes including the 15 minute wait time following the injection. I cannot say enough about how well this process went. Kudos to Fairfax. BTW most communications are sent electronically

Fairfax County has totally bungled the rollout for the Covid vaccine. It is a disgrace. Other counties seem to be vaccinating people well under the age of 65 and all we receive is a message thanking us for the submission and suggesting we check our email to find out when the appointment is scheduled.

Where is the rollout of the vaccine? I have signed up my parents numerous times from fairfax county links. I’ve called the health dept. I called cvs and was hung up on several times. The fairfax county public health dept seems preoccupied with “contact tracing” still when they need to “figuring out” how to get vaccines in arms. The only people I know in fairfax county who have the vaccine are 1) gov agency workers (a 32 year old has had both shots btw) 2) military 3) firefighter (32 year old has had both shots) The phase 1b vaccine rollout for persons over age 75 is nonexistent for normal, private sector workers without connections. Seniors are the most vulnerable; protect them first!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I and my companies SES and Advantage Septic have been working with this department for more than 30 years. We have had our disagreements over interpretations of regulations and policies. Sometimes these were heated discussions and we had to agree to disagree. In all situations they have treated me and all of our staff with the utmost respect and courtesy. Their staff training and customer service is backed by a great electronic database and the best hard file records of any health department we have worked with across the State. The way this department and the operates should be the model for all local health departments.
