I've stayed at a LOT of Marriotts. The ones that make a difference do it through Customer Service. This one is at the top of the list for sure! There was a lady at checkout and later in our stay worked the breakfast bar. She was OUTSTANDING! Enough so, that on future trips back to Fairfax, I won't even look at other locations to stay - this is the one!

Entire place is nice and clean. Went for a Staycation and loved it. Going back for the fries on the menu too!
Reqsonably priced hotel in convenient area. Friendly staff, particularly the folks that work the counter at the restaurant & bar. Have stayed here fairly consistently over the last year. Needs a major renovation/update - furniture/beds/aesthetics are very worn. Also, appears that there are long term guests here? Banners/window coverings/etc. in many room windows facing lobby. Not an issue but, given current situation, very interesting to see parking lot packed but never run into anyone inside? Convenient & friendly, will probably stay again.
Some of the issues were covid related and some were not. When I pay for a room I expect to get heat in it (or have it fixed) and room cleaning. Marriott used to offer bonus points to entice you to reduce their labor, now it is part of the "service". No mention was made during reservation process or check in.
Incredible gym. Nice rooms. Good location. Restaurant incredibly overpriced though. 18 for two scallops. Are you serious?
The people here are sweet as can be. I recommend it highly.
Decent hotel, but not four stars. Room are spacious and big, but parts were worn down, especially the office chair - but the couch and bed were very comfortbale. Most obnoxious thing about this hotel is that in the room, every other hour, you would hear random thumping, thudding, banging noises that would go on sporadically for 10 minutes then stop. This is annoying especially when trying to fall asleep or being woken up from sleep. Rooms are not well insulated: you could hear things easily from the hallway like chatter, closing/opening doors, people using the ice machine. Also, housekeeping were very unprofessional. I don't want to hear their chatter and loud laughter and their clumsy slamming at 8:55 am when I am still in bed. I can also see what other reviews mean by poor air insulation an dhow it would be problamatic n the summer, but in winter it is doable. Service was also average. The restaurant (703) is decent and not so expensive, but they are not consistent with their times: they would be closed when it is stated they are open without any warning. Also, it is very unethical for the front desk to charge 8.00 for a simple ham and cheese sandwich when a guest is hungry at 2 am and nothing is open (how is this 4 stars service??). Location is good.
My profile states quiet rooms. They tried putting us across from elevators. Moved us to 2 nd floor and room had beer caps on floor and handles on bathroom sink we’re broken. Very dirty and upsetting. We have stayed here about 5 times but will be looking elsewhere. They seemed to care more for airline staff than to business travelers
