I have hesitated leaving a review of this church for years, because it has felt impossible to put into words how devastatingly harmful and damaging this church was for my emotional and mental health as a young woman/wife/mother. Toxic and authoritarian theology, unbelievable misogyny, raging homophobia, victim blaming and shaming, gas lighting, manipulation, silencing women, and on. Each therapist I have shared my experience with has without hesitation described the tactics my family experienced here as those of a cult. I decided to share my experience here in hopes to prevent even just one person from experiencing the trauma of going to this church.

After years of serving to help Sovereign Grace Church of Fairfax transition to Redeeming Grace Church, we came to the unfortunate reality that the current leaders would not shake the habits of their past. Bottom line, the leaders of this church are more comfortable with committed serving members leaving their church, than working through conflict with those members. The leaders are very prideful and cannot humble themselves to have conversations about actions they've taken that are wrong, or in some cases, misrepresent members so they leave the church under a different guise. The pride of this church and specifically it's leaders is terribly disappointing, and its very sad that so many committed families have had to leave because they felt like they had no choice.
Reformed doctrine. Excellent teaching. Impassioned worship. Enter at the traffic light and follow the driveway back around the curve. Visitors parking just before the awning on the right. Disabled parking is past the front door to allow drop off.
