I have been here before with my previous doctor, and always had a great experience. However, this time around I needed help understanding a situation with a medical form that I need for PCS'ing to a new duty station with my husband, but I was received by the receptionist with such a negative attitude and lack of willingness to help. I have an accent, because English is my second language, and there was just so little patience to hear me and understand me. I left feeling so frustrated and sad. I would just recommend a little bit more patience and care to our military families.

Communication error led to a death. I have reviewed the patient completed medical record and found out that some of the most important communications were off. As we couldn’t speak to the doctor directly, some important things doctor said were never communicated to us. Somethings that the nurse understood very well but the doctor had no clue/memory of it. Words told by the doctor been forgotten by himself. The doctor always praised the patient excellent lab work and received great family care upon each visits for 6 years. Never communicate any concerns he Left in the note and never had a treatment plan. But when the patient became weak the doctor did nothing but telling every one the patient is end of life without knowing the cause of the weakness. A doctor should never call a patient end of life without checking for clarification and acceptance. Words kill so as Misdiagnosis. Because a doctor’s misdiagnosis being seen by “many other incompetent doctors/health workers” They took his word and simply denied the patient’s access to many helpful resources and acted counter effect to patient’s health. That was how sad it can be! Heart breaking!

As a new resident of Anacortes, I was searching for a new PCP. I made a much needed, long overdue appt for severe back pain. I called many offices to see if I could schedule as a new patient and as many of you may know the doctor offices all have very similar names. I made an honest mistake showed up to my appointment at the wrong office! I'm new mom and gosh how embarrassed I was going to the wrong place! Keep in mind I never received a reminder call for this appointment either. That would have definitely helped! I tried to reschedule with Island Family Physicians and they considered me a no show and flagged my profile refusing to see me as a patient. I told them I respect their policy but it was an honest mistake and my insurance has assigned me to this clinic. I asked if I could somehow correct my o show\ by apologizing directly to whom made this decision, management, doctor, etc. Begging for them to review this misunderstanding. I take full responsibility of my the situation but don't feel it was fair seeing under the circumstances and like I mentioned before NO REMINDER CALL! I'm in need of care. Medical care. I thought all doctors took an oath to help people....?! I will point out it was KAREN who refused to review my case and kept me as a flagged patient. I'm appalled. I would give the actions of this clinic a zero but unfortunately that isn't that option. I hope every Doctor practicing at this office reads this review, I hope every new and established patient reads this review. Is this really the type of place you want to entrust your healthcare with? An honest mistake means a slammed door in the face?
