This is a follow on to my post from 3 years ago. I am coming up on 10 years here. This is one of those companies where if you don't want to do much, they will accommodate you and not make you do much. Just remember, every week truck payment comes due whether you did anything or not. Leasing a truck makes you a business owner. Like any other business the expense of operating is on you. As for Randy, being how Barlow is a refrigerated trucking company i don't see how they would have been hauling air conditioning parts or how one driver could walk of with 12,000 in parts
like
Just turned my truck in no miles and no pay run do not come here
Driver delivered part of a package, however did not deliver 12000 worth of air conditioners that my business purchase. Contacting them led to \we will contact you back in 4 hours\ to which we never received call back. Multiple calls later and we are out 12000 of merchandise due a dishonest company who hires dishonest employees. Do not recommend. Do not use.
This is a very good company,I worked here for 6 1/2 years leased 4 trucks 2 of wich I spec ed myself with the help of the owner... They have true owner op spec ed equipment.. Everyone here works really hard to keep this place moving and they are very personable. If you are willing to stay out and I mean STAY OUT..3-4 weeks at a time you can do very well.. Just make your appointments on time and you will do fine.. They take special interest in the driver who goes the distance!!! You can average 1,500-1800 if you are willing to run and be on time!!!!! As for discrimination, that is a bunch of nonsense!!!!!!!! They don't give a damn about what color, religion or creed you are, they treat you as you would treat them and that goes for everybody there!!! I really loved working here and I miss it every day.... I only left because I'm married and I needed to be home a lot more... Remember...No company is perfect even this one..it's up to you and how hard you're willing to work! :)
Its more concerning than a review, we live in Oregon and we had a Barlow truck with a very long trailer go up a mountain road with sharp curves, that he couldn't properly navigate, I dont know if he didnt look at it before taking it or just didnt care, but he nearly had a few head on collisions on a couple sharp corners. I know sometimes driving in areas that you aren't familiar with can be hard but maybe they need more training? I have drivers in my family who have been driving for quite some time and they would never take a road like that with a 53 foot trailer.
