Campground was full, so I slept in my car along the side of the road, near the picnic area. No complains at all. I woke up to a beautiful view of the sun rising over the lake, and was 5 minutes away from the other side of the lake. Honestly, sleeping in my car probably beat any campground for that night. I was able to secure a Yellow Post Site the other day, but that night was memorable and very enjoyable to me. Not a lot of thorough traffic on N Shore Lane, and not one car woke me up. I heard a fair few coyotes in the distance..or were they wolves?

There was a dead fish. There's a lot of algae, but its nature, I guess. We also found some frogs. Be careful with the rocks, they can do some real damage.

Really nice and calm place. Been there during summer, had a walk on the lake then took the Cougar Crest Trail which is pretty close and have an awesome view to the whole lake.

By far one of the best spots to walk your dogs in Big Bear Lake. Plenty of parking bathrooms accessible picnic tables all around a good spot just have to get your activities parking pass.

I liked this area. It's a nice place to walk or have a picnic. Unfortunately do to the government shut down, the parking lot was closed. They have picnic tables and trash cans. It's away from the city and a little secluded area and quiet. We spent about 2 hours and built a snowman.
