Perfect Cable Car for Hiking
like
great place to spend some time at the afternoon. its quite cheap for switzerland and worth a visit.
A nice quiet place to have a nice cup of coffee, with stunning view of the lake.
Beautiful views. Open on Sundays when everything else in Zurich is closed
Beautiful place above Zurich
Albis ridge is 22km long and has an elevation of 914 m/NN at its highest point. Its name derives from the elves (lights) and means \string of lights\ in reference to the many peaks on which was settled in prehistoric times and fire burned. A very well maintained trail leads along the ridge and all summits to its end near Sihlbrugg. It has lots of restaurants, infoboards, fountains, barbeque spots, burial mounds, ruins of ancient castles, viewpoints and summit towers. Beside lies Sihlwald, a forest in natural state with the popular wild animal park. Most important peaks are Uetliberg, Felsenegg, Hochwacht, Schnabelburg and Albishorn. The whole ridge is crossed by two passes, Buchenegg and Albispass with huge parkings. A famous swiss classic short hiking tour is the walk between Uetliberg station and Felsenegg cable car (6km/2h) with option to go down to Adliswil Station and back to Zuerich.
Great views and the hiking trail back to the station was fantastic. I took the cable car up and walked down.
Very nice place!
