I went there to get my first fish and I picked out a betta fish but after a few days his fins got really torn and we are currently treating him accordingly otherwise the fish looked really really healthy there but before you buy your fish examine them make sure they’re not stressed out because part of the reason I think his fins are torn is because he’s a little stressed but that will probably blow over in a couple days because we have him in a really nice tank. Anyways I’m just gonna work on caring my fish and go back to regular life I like Fish Planet go here for your fish instead of big-name pet stores.

I bought a female zebra angelfish from here about 2 years ago even though I no longer keep fish but I'd recommend this place over big box chain stores for nice, healthy fish. Planning on returning to the store for hard to find fancy goldfish for my sister.

Contrary to all the good reviews, I would like to give this shady, hoodlum establishment a bad review. First off, the prices of the fish are way too steep. You can find pretty much the same fish priced much cheaper at retail stores like Petco, or at Old Orchard Aquarium. The owner, Steve Freed, is also a shady sketch ball. He doesn't take care of the fish that won't sell. He keeps them in the tank and lets them die. He also has his staff dip the live rock he sells in bleach to remove algae that might appear unsettling. The thing is, it's not really live rock anymore once you dip it in bleach. So customers aren't getting what they paid for. Finally, he pays all his staff under the table so that he doesn't have to pay as much taxes. I wouldn't trust this guy as far as you could throw his fat self, and I certainly wouldn't shop here.

Ok so I went to his store today to pick up my geophagus balzanii and what a nice store I really like that place. The owner is a super nice and knowledgable guy. Really nice plants, very good quality, and some interesting fish like Ranibows an pea puffers they all looked healthy and the store super clean and the prices where better than buying online 100% recommended. I will go back for more also he offered to find fish for me thank you Mr Freed.
