FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY do NOT visit MPREIS in flachau between the hours of 4:30 and 6 p.m. on a Sunday in the winter. For you may be assured that every other weekly resident of the valley, and all of the valleys for miles around, will be in there doing their weekly change-over shop. Most of the aisles were gridlocked by queuing trolleys. It was impossible to get at key supplies (the bare essentials: wine, beer, chocolate, crisps and amusingly undrinkable outrageously alcoholic Austrian mountain liqueurs like STROH 80) because of all the tired, grumpy skiers and their equally short-tempered teenaged children were standing in the way with the expectations of checking out, at a small counter three aisles and 150 snaking metres away.

Nice store with enough fresh daily ingredients.
Nice upermarket at the edge of the village, with free parking. Good bakery! It can become crowded with customers and carts. They have limited choice in fruit and vegetables, but you'll find a bit of everything here. Staff is available to help you find what you need.
Very good supermarket.
You have to buy almost everything twice to get good price. Penny Market was better.
