I took my wife here two weeks ago for our Baby Moon, it was a surprise that she really enjoyed!!! Its a really beautiful place to spend a romantic getaway with your spouse!!! I would recommend this to anyone wanting to have some alone romantic time!! Plus AJ was so nice an professional when I asked questions about the barn!! We really enjoyed this place and we know for sure we will be back here again sometime in the future!!

A wonderfully Amazing stay. Our hostess was a joy, room was beautiful and kitchen stocked for anyone (home cook to chef). The grounds are fun to explore and views of the river from our windows were wonderful. We will return!!!

Once again, had a wonderful stay at the New River Escape Barn. This time we stayed in the English Country Suite, It's very charming, and has all you need, with its own little kitchen. The country setting is so pretty, being on the river, and with the mountains as a backdrop. A highlight of our stay was a kayaking trip down the river. The hosts are very welcoming, and kids will really enjoy throwing the ball for the friendly dogs. We hope to return with a group of friends for another visit next year - summertime is perfect as the weather is great! - the temperatures are moderated by the altitude.

We could not recommend New River Escape enough! AJ provided the BEST day for my bridesmaids and I to create our bouquets for my wedding. Her "Flower Bar" created a beautiful day of brunch and flowers for me and my family. Creating my bouquets with AJ and her team was a highlight of my wedding weekend. 10/10 recommend!

The only reason this place got 5 stars is that there wasn’t an option for 10. We stumbled on this place by accident after a disappointing VRBO experience. The wedding was destined for the mountains, we just had to find the venue. AJ was phenomenal from the beginning. The food, photos, cake, Pastor, all were amazing. We stayed in the French suite, and the morning views were breathtaking. We will certainly return. Please don’t mention to the owner that we may hide in a utility closet and stay an extra couple weeks. It’s that incredible. Book it now. You won’t be disappointed.

I had the great pleasure of staying at all three properties at the New River Escape. Luck brought me there to the French Country Suite (a last-minute booking after an AirBnB in West Jefferson fell through). I hadn’t heard of Fleetwood but the place looked lovely. And lovely it was! It exceeded all my expectations. There was local coffee in the kitchen and local beers in the fridge, scented bath soak next to the huge in-suite jacuzzi tub, fresh bathrobes hanging and an absolutely gorgeous and calming view over the field. Everything was sparkling clean. I hoped for a bonfire and AJ had one built straightaway, so I could relax under the stars. She’s a tremendous host and truly cares for her guests. After a week in the French Country Suite, I didn’t want to leave, and ended up booking return visits to the Carriage House and the Garden Gate. Both were the same excellent quality - bucolic views, thoughtful touches, clean all around and just calming and lovely places to be. (Also the Wifi is strong and consistent if that’s important to you). The whole property and its fields and forests couldn’t be more relaxing and beautiful. AJ herself is a steward of both the land and her guests, and her consideration and care shines through in every detail. I can’t say enough about this place, and I can’t wait to return. If you’re considering booking, don’t consider any longer. You won’t find a more contented place, and you’re sure to enjoy every minute here.

We were blessed to rent this venue for my daughters birthday party this year. With the fear of Covid, we wanted a venue that could provide both indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces. New River was prompt with answering any questions I had and allowed the opportunity for us to preview the venue prior to our event. She provided safety measures such as hand sanitizer at the venue to add a second layer of protection for our guests. The barn it’s self was truly impeccable and allowed for quick access for all of our guests. If I had any constructive criticism for future guests it would be to plan ahead as far as shuttling guests and items to and from the parking area. It is a short distance but could be challenging for elderly guests. Also, when I rent this venue in the future I would love the chance to also rent the upstairs cabins which are simply amazing. Unfortunately, these were previously rented out before we booked our party and so there were guests who traveled around during our party as well. We took advantage of both the indoor and outdoor spaces and I would 100% recommend them to any future guests.
