If a cemetery could be called beautiful this is one. Very pretty with moat and willow trees. Sad but beautiful at the same time. Just a short drive from Fromelles.

Situated within a glade of willow trees, Le Trou Aid Post Cemetery, the site of a former regimental first aid post, is a beautiful final resting place for 350 men of the British and Commonwealth forces, more than half of them unknown. Less than a kilometre away is VC Corner cemetery and the Australian Memorial Park at Fromelles.
Beautifully kept as all CWG Cemeteries are, but this is rather special with a 'moat' around it and weeping Willow trees reflected in the still water. Visited after Theipval Memorial Remembrance Service in September 2016 and caught it in the setting sun.
Endroit calme et charmant qui mérite un arrêt. La tombe d'un soldat français est isolée
Bijzonder WWI-kerkhof. Klein maar fijn. Omgeven door water en treurwilgen. Entree via poortje. Mooi.
Émouvant lieu de mémoire.
