Lovely place! Amazing to visit-a bird of bird waste inside but it has lovely views and is well preserved. Found it a bit rude that the Police called my rucksack suspicious though :/

Beautiful views on a moody day!
As a child we used to play in and around the Martello towers further up. Not until years later on a visit to my parents in Hastings did I bring my own family to Folkestone. At this time Martello No.3 had been bought and in the process of being refurbished into what it would have been like during the Napoleonic wars. We were given access to the tower and reliving my childhood with them, we were given a private viewing of the tower and what was going to be done. It is a shame it has closed now but at the time, had been an experience I will never forget.
I had not been up to the tower in a long time. My husband and I decided to go for a walk and had a wonderful time exploring the area surrounding the tower. We were unable to access the tower but it would have been interesting to do so. The tower was built c1805 and proved useful in the defense of the coastline. The views are amazing and you are able to see Towers One and Two in the distance. We enjoyed walking along the pathways and trying to identify the plants and other foliage. Well worth having a wander and enjoying the scenery.
It’s so beautiful. The building itself and the things surrounding it. The view is amazing
