Terribly disorganized and very few players for the various sports. Schedule constantly changing, games cancelled all the time due to lack of players. And that was pre-COVID. We were supposed to be issued a refund of our registration fee after spring sports were cancelled due to coronavirus last year...one year later I still haven’t received my refund. Unfortunately there isn’t much else in the Forest area as far as organized rec-league sports are concerned.

Great place for the community. The staff is run ragged with all the events they support/hold/etc.. Only major downside is the office hours/ease of contact. Sometimes it is hard to get to their office during normal hours, but understandable since most of the squad is volunteer. Without FYAA, Forest would be a much worse town

This review is with regard to the basketball league only-not the entire organization. If you plan to have a child play in this league, you need to understand the following. My issues with the basketball league (I coach) (2013-2014) have to do with scheduling practices and nearly complete lack of communication. We are supposed to be \guaranteed\ at least one practice a week. However, there have been at least 3 weeks in the season where we have been left off the practice schedule completely while other teams have 2 practices scheduled for the week. Each time this has happened, I have tried communicating with FYAA by e-mailing, calling the office, and texting or calling the person who is supposed to schedule practices. The person scheduling has not once, in the last 2-3 weeks responded to my attempts to communicate. Other administrators have communicated by e-mail that they would talk to the schedule guy, but nothing has changed. The practice schedules also come out late (typically Saturday night or Sunday night for Monday practices, which makes it very difficult to communicate with parents and get kids to practice. When expressing my frustration to the parents about how we can't practice, I've heard many other parents say they have heard similar things. It is unfair to the kids, coaches, and parents to have them pay money to play in a league and then not schedule a practice. How can these kids learn the game and improve if not given a chance?
