I adopted my cat Chewy from them at the Christiana Petsmart and I cannot be happier. My cat had dental issues that needed to be taken care of shortly after adopting him and Forgotten cats helped me pay for the dental bill. They were very responsive and communicated with me through the whole process. I have recommended them to all my family members and friends and my dad adopted a cat from them also. They’re selective of who they adopt cats to and it’s highly understandable because a lot of people get rid of cats easily.

Great job with all they did only had told us they could keep them and find homes for them and that was important to us because we can't afford to feed them anymore and they have caused a huge problem for us with neighbors and our landlord, we may get evicted now because they all were returned to us. Gotta say. "God bless them " for fixing them, we couldn't afford it and no one else cared or tried to help at all. years went by, a small problem became huge ! I understand they are overflowing. Wish others cared like they do . The world has gone to the dogs ! I'd give anything if we could afford a house and keep them all even the strays. Love them all so much !

A couple days ago I fell in love with a kitten from forgotten cats inc. They contacted me through a phone call to follow up with me and ask me questions, however the lady I talked to was absolutely so rude and I ended up crying. I love animals so much, and have had them my WHOLE life. She asked me if I would ever bring the cat outside and I said yes (only because I have a cat BACKPACK) that I would use so that they can actually experience the world without being in any sort of danger, and I didn’t even get to explain myself before she shamed me about it. She then proceeded to say that she was worried because of that. Then she told me I’m not stable because I haven’t lived in my rental home for over 6 months (I have a year lease and plan on staying here much longer) but not letting me adopt a cat because I have lived in my OWN household for 2 months? Unbelievable. The lady was so rude to me and raising her voice for absolutely no reason. And if that is a requirement it should’ve been on the adoption application. I feel like the lady was finding excuses for me not to adopt a cat, she judged me from a two second phone call. I would’ve given any cat a very loving home and good life, and the fact that I was turned away so easily made me really sad. Also- before I moved into my own home I was at the same residence for life (25 years) she didn’t even ask for my background. Please be aware of this when trying to adopt a cat from this place!!!! I am the furthest thing from “unstable” and they were SO quick to judge instead of digging deeper to give these cats and kittens amazing homes!!! I want all cats to go to a great loving home and wish that they actually took the time to get to know me instead of lashing out. The way I was talked to was not okay. 0/10.

Do not go to this shelter. They lied to me about the aggressiveness and litter training of a foster cat and I am dealing with the infection of the bites/scratches several weeks later.

I speak as a well-respected and upstanding individual on my disappointment of this animal adoption center. I was highly offended by them. These "fellow" vegan and animal rights activists declined my cat adoption application under the ASSUMPTION that I did not care for my DOMESTIC cats for close 15 years. DID I SAY CLOSE TO 15 YEARS???!!!!. I parented two male tabbies. One from 1994 until 2008. The other from 2003 until 2013. I was blessed to relocate with both of these cats from NJ to MD. These so-called "compassion in action" folks did not have the decency to call and talk to me personally, like human beings, to find out more about me and my family like the MD SPCA did when I adopted our new kitten a couple of weeks ago. Their primary method of communication was via email and text. However, Forgotten Cats did make an initial phone call to the LAST vet I had who showed inactive records since 2011 for one of the cats whose next appointment was scheduled for late 2012. The year I had my first child. Mind you, this younger cat was deceased in early 2013 (10 years old) and the older cat (14 yrs old) in 2008, three years after I relocated to MD. I even texted them my receipts as proof. Talk about the lack of human interaction and personal connection. I realize that folks are out here literally abusing cats and kittens but for someone who has owned two DOMESTIC cats for damn near close to 15 years and relocated states with them, PLEASE GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!!! Don't judge my character and intentions by one call to a vet without getting the whole story. I'm trying to find my newly adopted kitten a companion and friend. And this is all for my daughter's birthday. Thank you MD SPCA. I pray we find another kitten through you. Forget this place! Very discriminatory practices.
