Great place! If you are in Formia, you should visit it. A place is unique and ancient. When you go down the stairs, you feel the atmosphere of the place. The walls are constructed from the orginal material which was invented by Romans. The guide was very nice and intelligent, answered all our questions. Many thanks for her work!

Fantastic!! It was amazing to go beneath the city and see the amazing work of the Romans. The guide was fantastic translating into English for us. Only 3 to enter. In a lovely district of Formia (some great places to eat afterwards really nearby). In July and August open Tuesday-Sunday from 7pm - don't go by what the website says.
Absolutely fantastic. Must see. Historic informative and very very cheap to visit. Well worth the visit and in a beautiful hide away of a little town.
A little know roman water cistern. This vast underground chamber which still holds water is available to visit, a series of flaoting platforms enable visitors to walk around this impressive Roman structure. Quite tricky to find the opening to, it's just in the corner of a square with little signage to let you know it's there. When we visited it was a special free day too, but we'll worth the small entrance fee. There are free leaflets too with information in several languages.
Very beuatiful as everything in Formia!
