This is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable cycle routes in the area. Very easy, as it’s an old railway line so fairly flat. The Dava way runs between Forres and Granton on Spey via Dava. Some wonderful work has been done by the Moray Council to introduce multiple information signs along the way with some great local history information.

I deeply enjoyed the Dava way. It follows the railway line, which was built as a rout between Inverness and Perth, opened in 1863 and closed in 1965. However the rout starts from Grantown- on- Spay and finishes in Forres ( 24 miles ). It took me 7 hours to get through. The Dava Way passes through the open area, farmlands, woodlands and moorland. I was the most impressed by the Divie Viaduct, the sculptures made of wood and of course the sheeps, they are the best companions which graze peacefully around the area.
Lovely walk. Bit muddy in places but well worth the effort.
The walk was fine, it was a bit muddy due to the previous poor weather.
