Good for kids
Exceptional kayak instruction out of Ft Bragg! My girlfriend and I wanted an educational paddling review and a fun girlfriend adventure, and we got that and more....we started off the morning on a quiet beach on the Noyo River discussing appropriate equipment and safety concerns while curious seals cruised by. We wound our way through the working harbor bustling with great boats, people fishing from the edges, and tourists sipping clam chowder and practiced our different paddling strokes. We finished off by skipping across the mouth of the harbor and out onto the glorious ocean! We practiced launching and landing on the beach, reviewed safety protocols, and practiced our wet exits and buddy assistance. We got SO much information and confidence from this amazing 4 hour class! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I’m a whitewater kayaker and I’ve been wanting to get on the ocean. I figured some of the skills would transfer, so I opted for a 1-day private lesson with Jeff at Liquid Fusion, hoping for some accelerated instruction. That’s exactly what I got! He really took the time to understand my goals and skill level and the instruction was tailored accordingly, rather than just read from a script. Jeff is matter of fact with his constructive feedback but also super encouraging with praise, which I think is the ideal combo. Not only did he pack a ton of instruction into one day, but the fun factor very present. When we launched at Caspar, I assumed we’d just be tooling around 200 yards from the beach. Next thing I know, we’re half a mile out riding up and down massive swells, getting as close as possible to enormous breakers exploding against cliff rocks, marveling at the enormity of it all. All day long he pointed out landmarks (Pt Cabrillo Lighthouse), wildlife (sea lions on top the rocks), and the various water features (“The Rocky Mountains”). We practiced eskimo rolls, self-rescues, and buddy rescues out in the dynamic water which made me feel empowered. By the end of the day I was a good kind of sore and my face hurt from grinning. During all that he managed to snap a bunch of photos (like the one attached to this review) and sent me the download link to use as I please. Despite being a real-life Jedi, Jeff was down to Earth, easy to level with, and obviously very passionate about the sport and the experience. Definitely got my money’s worth and will be back. Highly recommend!
Rented a kayak for two people on memorial day weekend 2020. Mentioned they are usually guided tours but had recently made some changes.Jeff was very friendly, and quick to accommodate us! I would definitely highly recommend them and prices are very reasonable. Everything seems pretty brand new and taken very well care of.
Had a great private class with liquidfusion kayaking. The instruction was matched to my ability (novice), and I walking away much more confident and motivated from the experience. I’ll be back!
We took a Sunday 11am Noyo River Meander with Cate. The weather was perfect. The tide was in. The animals were out and about. I truly enjoyed my first kayaking experience and look forward to doing it again with Liquid Fusion.
