Loved the Gardens - wonderful riot of colors and a feast for the eyes. Rhododendrons galore in every size, shape and color blanketing the bottom of the trees and pathways. The heather garden was also especially unique - learned that they produce more than just purple flowers. We took a nice leisurely walk around the gardens interspersed with some statues, art and people . I would recommend coming here if you are in the area. On week days you can usually buy your tickets online for the same day.

The garden features local and native varieties but includes much more. The real feature here, compared with other botanical gardens, is the space. 47 acres with options for over a mile walks to bluffs overlooking the ocean on easy trails. Steeper hikes for the more asked and adventurous. Throw in a few choice sculptures and a beautiful day for a real gem of an experience. Kids frolicked all over with plenty of space to avoid serious annoyment of others.
This place is truly magical. The plants and trees transplant you to another world. And once you get past that and walk down the coast trail to the ocean your mind will be in relaxation mode.
This was a ver beautiful place to visit. A tiny bit pricey at 15, but I’m bet I stopped in. I also didn’t expect it to be such a huge place. It should be called a botanical park not a garden.
Where to begin? This place is AMAZING. So much work has been put in here. Gorgeous plants, lovely sculptures, great trails. Everywhere we went was something impressive to see. I love the historic and volunteer aspect of the gardens as well as the scenic beauty of the ocean trail. Such a fun and educational experience, one that I won't forget.
