I called to inquire about renting a home on post. My husband is an E-6 as of now. Because we don't have children we only qualify for a two-bedroom. Fine. I am able to make do. But she told me it was an E1-E6 neighborhood so I assumed we would pay well under BAH. Wrong. They are not fixed pricing and it's full BAH. So we would pay 1800 for the same thing an E2 pays significantly less for. That's unfair and anywhere else it's illegal. You don't base your rent on how much the tenant makes, unless it's subsidized housing (which this isn't). Nowhere else on post bases how much you pay on your rank. Housing shouldn't get to either.

West side views are amazing.
Lived in two different units during my stay here but both had the same issue where no matter high you turn the heat up (I turned it up to 90) the house would not get above 59 during the winter. They told me it’s due to the vaulted ceiling when maintenance personnel came to work on it. The water pressure in both houses were questionable as well. It have good pressure then all of the sudden none. You pay a lot for mediocre housing. But the heat is by far the biggest issue specially when you have children.
I lived here for 3 years and honestly enjoyed it. I had my share of problems but everything was always made right. It might not of happened overnight and sometimes I had to get hateful but they did do their best to make things right.
The best way to WASTE your BAH is living here. You have to spend all your money on rent for old houses with low maintenance. Choctaw is a really ghetto place with neighbors so loudest and their pets everyday. Adding to this the mess of trash and the trash cans everywhere all the time. You can hear in your apartment the noises the other people in the apartment next you.
