Our company wanted to send a big shout out to all staff at the detachment. We (Alberta Fire & Flood) came to assist residence in the area with recent flooding, and the RCMP team treated us all so well. They truly showed they are their for the people in the town, when the town needed them the most. THANK YOU ALL - YOU ARE AMAZING

There is no law that prohibits batons (asp) from private ownership or that prohibits carrying of the baton. Only spring loaded batons are illegal in Canada. Furthermore, one of your officers in the past threatened to charge me with possession of a prohibited weapon until he realized he was wrong. By Canadian law it’s mostly intent that defines criminality- for example I can legally carry an asp baton on my hip if I’m carrying it to protect myself from animals. If my intent is not criminal in nature your officers abused their power and continue to do so by telling me I must take it home and lock it up. They are not now, nor have they ever been illegal and it’s harassment for your officers to continue their nonsense. My lawyer is ex RCMP - he says I can carry it and therefore I will.
