I wouldn’t let them anywhere near your car! I had new tyres fitted on all four wheels. Drove away and the car was rumbling through the steering wheel. Went to another garage to check and my wheels were completely unbalanced. They’d added extra weights and stacked them! Paid to have them fixed and went back to McConnecy’s. Turns out one of the employees, untrained and unsupervised had balanced and fitted my tyres. The area manager was there and couldn’t have given a stuff. He refunded my additional expense and didn’t even apologise! After this incident I spoke to a lot of other local folk that had tyres from there and everyone said they were dreadful. At least two told me their wheels had fallen off after not being tightened! Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you value your car and potentially your life!

We were more than perfectly helped by McConechy Tyre service when we had a flat tyre during our roundtrip in Scotland. Fortunately I had a spare wheel when we got a flat, but this was only an emergency solution. We first visited the Oban branche, but they did not have the tyre on stock, which I can understand as it is a uncommon size. When they heard we were traveling the next day to Skye, they ordered the tyre in the branch in Fort William. This was on friday evening. Saturday morning we dropped our wheel off in the branche in Fort William and on Monday, returning from Skye we picked the wheel up. It was fitted with exactly the right tyre, not only size but also brand and type. The service was professional and friendly, really perfect, especially considering I was just a foreigner passing by. Highly recommended when in tyre trouble in Scotland.

We called the garage in a panic and Donald was really helpful on the phone and took us in straight away, they couldn't fix our car as they didn't have the parts but they did everything they physically could to help us and even topped up the oil and the water and sent us on our merry way. Can't recommend them highly enough, we were in a bit of a tizz as we were a long way from home but they gave us great chat and were beyond helpful and saved our trip! Thanks again guys, 10/10.
