One of the main landmarks of the city.Must visit. The walk upto the top is a must as the views of the city are a beautiful 360 view from there. When we went in late 2019, one needed to buy tickets to get to the top. With the Salzburg pass it is free.Once inside there is not much to see. Some cafe here and there, so overall a nice place to sit and relax with a Beer after the climb.

Must visit. It’s free to walk to the top so why not! The views of the City are awesome, basically 360 views. There’s plenty of interesting stuff to check out too. At Christmas there is even a small Market up there. The walk is enough, gets a bit steep in parts and a few stairs.
Interesting landmark. Use Salzburg card to visit it for free. If you are lucky you can visit the state room before 11:00am. The view of the city is nice, but inside there is not much to see. There are some cafes both front and back. Nice to sit down and get beer after visiting the fortress.
This is a must see very interesting well worth the time.
We made really short break in here - but had enough time to visit birthplace of Mozzart, shop for cheese, cheese and Mozzartkugel. Really beautiful town, just like from a fairytale!
You can get an AMAZING view of Salzburg from this fortress! The basic ticket costs 12.50 euros which includes the return cable car ride and a visit to the museum (the all inclusive ticket includes a specific room which I decided it wasn’t worth 4 more euros). What I valued the most of this visit is the practically 360 degrees view of Salzburg!
Nice experience. 16,40 for an adult for all inclusive ticket but you can go for the basic one for 12,40 and it just doesn't include few theatres and royal room. Audioguide tour is available in many languages and has 6 stops, mask required everywhere inside. View is spectacular.
The sky of Salzburg is always different. Always beautiful.
