Amazing food. Beautifully plated. This is tue second time that we have been to Foliage and it was yet again a magnificent experience.

Great food, although chicken in risotto is an unusual and slightly confusing choice while the risotto itself had a bit too much tartness for my liking. The spare rib in steamed bun was delicious although ratio of meat to bun seemed a bit off. The smoked tomato salad was delicious.
From start the finish we had world class friendly service. It's not often you go to a place where you see the passion for a place in all staff members. It's exactly the kind of service you are looking for in terms of guidance on food choice and more. The food for the price is incredible , I was quite blown away by the value. The wine is where it gets you on your bill, but with great food comes great wine.. this is a special place and I could see myself going once a month. The food is something I will be talking about for a long time (as a first timer) and I will be back to bring my mom and sister for a special girls night. I like how the place has the class and the exquisite food, however is not pretentious and you don't feel like you need to be careful and quiet. Loved every moment.

Amazing experience at Foliage! Friendly staff and a refreshing menu. Delicious dinner choices were the following (although the menu made the decision very difficult) ️Home baked ciabata with aubergine spread ️Kombucha-pickled garden carrots, river mint pesto, carrot chips, candied ginger ️BBQ beef brisket, butternut pot plant, pan jus ️Foliage home-made oreo & geranium ice cream sandwich, almonds, meringue mushrooms Due to South Africa level 3 lockdown, the sale of alcohol was unfortunately not permitted, but the great mocktails Foliage had definitely made up for this - orange mocktini and passionfruit mojito! COVID-19 protocols followed to the letter! Definitely a winner of an evening with amazing food.

Had an amazing meal here with my fiance in early January on our honeymoon. It was during the curfew and alcohol ban but we still enjoyed the experience very much. It was our last night in Franschhoek. We went to a lot of Franschhoek restaurants as we were there for 1 week. In our humble opinion, Protege and Foliage were the best for gourmet food. Great value for money & service. Foliage was more on the casual side of things which suited us maybe every so slightly better... Hard to find a fault with this place. We'll be back when Covid is over and when we do we'll make up for it by drinking every bottle of wine / beer / spirits behind the bar, have an amazing meal again and get buckled
We arrived and were greeted with a friendly smile. The restaurant was a little hard to find in the dark, maybe a clearer sign would be a good idea. Other than that. The mains were amazingly done and tasted delicious and served within 5mins. Dessert was served just as quick - although, it was not to our taste, but still good. I think the price was fair and we were treated to a lovely dinner with a great atmosphere. Will definitely recommend. The reason for one less star (would’ve made it half a star) is that there was a lot of smoke (from the grill) for a period and the desserts didn’t really meet the standard of the main course.
