Over the past two years or so, this establishment has definitely made strides in becoming more organized and formal. Once you walk in, there is a streamlined check in/out system to make sure no one gets unaccounted for. Next, you'll get your folder, complete the classwork, turn it in, get it checked, and leave. It's a very systematic process that's super easy to get into the routine of. Some might complain that this center doesn't provide enough one-to-one support, and understandably so. But over time I've noticed that you have to be proactive in asking for help, i.e. by directly confronting the help desk for assistance. Though the staff may not explicitly give you written clues on worksheets, if you get up and ask, they're always more than happy to help. The math tutors, in particular, have an excellent understanding of the content and explain the problems in a way that's always insightful, never one-dimensional. However, the wait time for getting classwork graded is somewhat inconsistent, due to the varying amount of staff there day by day. For the fastest service, try coming at a time when not many other students are there; early in the afternoon or late in the evening. Also, if they decide to return a bunch of old homework at once, it's a bit stressful to get so many corrections done. It's never overbearing, but nonetheless slightly annoying. This is really my only complaint though; my experience here has been generally positive. Good job, Kumon of Urbana.

Worst Kumon Center you can get into, surprise to see that Kumon has not closed this center. This center is a JOKE.Money making center with no concerns about your child's education. Can make bright dull. Pros None. Cons 1.Exceptionally small. Probably smallest Kumon ever. 2.Run by teenagers instead of experienced staff , owner wants to run the show by keeping cost low. So be open to get inexperienced staff quality service instead of experienced staff service quality. 3.Too loud. Next to a Gym and thanks to waiting area which is filled with people , some of the parents can talk like forever & ever. 4.Utterly unprofessional & complacent. They DO NOT sit with your child to explain concepts which your child is struggling to understand. 5.No motivation or push for Child to move on , on the contrary they are happy to keep your child at same level for months and months. 6. Reactive: You have to work with your kid to understand the gaps and needs and give information to the Center. My kid was unlearning stuff instead of learning, glad to move her to different Kumon center with experienced staff and ideal study environment , where the owner spends on having experienced staff, who know end to end status of your child progress, sit with your child to cope up with difficult topics & most importantly motivate your child to progress asap. Its proactive - I get reviews from owner that how my kiddo is doing along with plan sharing details for upcoming classes.

Now this center is asking to grade child's work unlike other center's near this area. Center is sighting parent grading as STANDARD for Kumon. If that is a Kumon standard , then are you following other standards like to provide QUIET ,Spacious & comfortable environment for learning? Do you have professional graders & tutors for students?

This center always does its absolute best for it's customers. Proud to say I'm very satisfied. Not only are the staff efficient and energetic, but they always offer their help to the students when they need it. Great center!

As a student, I think it's much better than some of the other Kumons in the area the staff there are friendly and actually care about the students, and they actually talk to kids and give them advice.
