Really nice small hotel near all the wineries

Awesome and friendly hosts. We were surprised by how well appointed the hotel room was; complementary snacks and very well stocked with coffee, tea, and toiletries. The room was clean, comfortable and the hotel had a nice overall atmosphere. Our hosts joined us for dinner at the local restaurant and we had a fantastic time with some drinks afterward. We will definitely be back!!

Very reasonable. I believe this was used as a Japanese "Love Hotel" before.

Hotel Nizi is a cute individual room motel that surprised me! The staff can speak English, so I was able to check in and out without a problem, and they were very accommodating to my questions about the local area, including recommending attractions (ask them where to go for wine tasting!) and places to eat. The room included water and tea and a mini bar for purchases and the bath was an amazing size! I am so used to smaller accommodations for bathing whenever I travel in Japan, and I could seriously live in that tub (and hey, towels were included too). It wasn't brand-new but definitely well cared for and the only thing I couldn't figure out was the radio (but I think that's due to my lack of Japanese...) Best of all though was the quietness of the area. Very relaxing in contrast to the business of Tokyo. Fuefuki is a lot different from Tokyo so you may want to rent a car, but there is public transit (mostly bus) to get around. The bus system can seem daunting at first but it's simple once you get used to it, but if you do drive, they even had a space for parking! Definitely a more rural area and feel, but it's a cool part of Japan to get you away from the touristy hot-spots yet still close to Tokyo (about 2.5 hours via train). Normally I have preferred hostels or renting out apartments in the past, but in a smaller area, it was really nice to be able to ask about recommendations like you can at a hostel but still get the private space of an apartment (of course without the hotel costs). A great find--try it out!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Hotel Nizi! The English speaking staff were very helpful with all of my questions and concerns. We booked through their official website, which was very easy to navigate. The room was spacious with a large, comfy bed and a couch and table, a large flatscreen TV and a big bathtub and shower room. It also has an incredible view of Kofu Basin, which at night, looks like another sky. Most folks come there by car, but there's a bus line running past the hotel that is useful for going to either the Fuji side or the Isawa/Kofu side. We used that and it was just fine! All in all, cute hotel run by friendly and helpful people. Highly recommended!
