Great tourist spot with lot of walking options to head towards the mountain peak. Be wary of the crowds and the shops having a slightly higher price for items. Great Street food options to choose from. There higher up you climb the less crowded it gets and possible to have some really nice sunset views

the temple itself at the bottom is nice but definitely too busy, if you follow the path through the red doors you will end up at the top of a small hill (like an hour walk) , with a nice small temple and a nice view of Kyoto. on the way you can buy some snacks and drinks even though they are very expensive.
If you're physically fit, I recommend going up the path to the top. It's a long walk up mostly steps but it's not too steep. It can take around an hour to walk all the way up if you're slow and taking your time. Make sure to bring water (buy it at the bottom where it's cheaper). The crowds definitely die down the higher up you get. Even if you came on a super crowded day, you'll be surprised how empty it gets walking up. The shrine at the top is worth seeing. Don't be expecting a view at the top though.
This is your reward for passing through the \sen bon tourist\ (\ten million tourists\) that Fushimi Inari is known for. A beautiful shrine complex brimming with ancient life energy, surrounded by a captivating bamboo forest.
A Must see in Kyoto. Great cultural experience. The hike up is very long about 2.5km so be prepared.
