We read the other reviews before going to this Chinese restaurant. For the information of others who do the same thing, the tea was excellent, sweetened with brown sugar and served boiling hot in a pot. The place itself is Spartan, but the food was beyond delicious. I do not really like Chinese food and my husband likes traditional Chinese food...egg roll, etc! We shared a dish suggested by the owner...truly the BEST Chinese food I have ever eaten. My husband was similarly impressed. There were vegetables mixed with beef and chicken and homemade noodles, seasoned perfectly. The Hong Kong Deli and Market deserves the five star rating that other diners have given it. We will go again, ask for tea , and follow the suggestions made by the owner so we can try something else that is awesome.

I've fallen in love with the Sweet and Spicy house special so much that I have yet to order anything else. Every bit contains a delicate mixture of ginger, pepper, herbs, and an array of veggies including zucchini, carrots, broccoli and more. Best Asian cuisine in Gainesville by far. I definitely recommend to order take out or delivery.
The hot tea must be paid for each person and does not come in a teapot. Plates are provided upon request. Some of the food is served in burger baskets. The Cantonese terminology for the Cantonese food isn't known. For a place with "Hong Kong" in the name, there was no one that spoke the language from there. Dim sum here is made to order, it should already be pre-made for quick service. The dim sum service was very slow. The food was priced higher but the flavor was below average. Variety was very small for a dim sum menu. Television was blaring the entire time, hard to hear anything. Could hardly smell the food over the propane smell from the kitchen.
1)\tOrdered Sichuan beef tendon noodle soup and BBQ pork rice. Both decent and fairly consistent. 2)\tThe lady owner’s really helpful and sweet. 3)\tNot quite impressed with the service. 4)\tThe food was priced a little higher. 5)\t I understand business only run by 2 people is not easy, and it can be stressful. But telling my bf be careful not to give out a big account since I am someone he met online is unnecessary. 6)\tI wish they’d actually succeeded with their business.
This was my first attempt at eating Chinese in Gainesville. Most restaurants here just aren't able to meet any decent level compared to a big city. Hong Kong Deli could easily compete in a large market. The owner is very friendly and offers suggestions. The quality and taste of the food is fantastic! The location just off 13th is a little awkward, but inside is nice and the food is absolutely worth it.
By Far and Away the best chinese food in Gainesville. Nothing else even comes close. The food is made fresh to order and just.... Mouth watering now, must go get some!
Food is good to very good. A little expensive on the menu, but a real value because THEY GIVE YOU ALOT! It's pricey for cheap chinese food, but it's good, cheap Chinese food and they give you quite a bit. I routinely get several meals worth . Szecheuan broccoli rocks. Owners are friendly, but it ain't fancy. I never eat there, we always get it to go. Call ahead and your golden.
Really great food, probably the best tasting Chinese food in Gainesville :) We got there super early for lunch - right at noon - figuring we might have to wait a bit for food, but no they got us piping hot food in no time! Portions are big, prices are great and everyone was nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back, thanks!
