My job involved a fair amount of travel and when visiting new cities, i always made it a point to visit the local piano stores. I had recently bought a new Steinway B grand piano - but when I saw and heard what PianoCraft did with pianos, I knew I had to have one even though it meant selling a perfectly good piano as PianoCraft gave me a great piano. Even my piano technician who worked for a Steinway dealer and who regularly did technical work for world class artists knew this piano was something special and said so. My PianoCraft Steinway B makes me a better pianist. I feel like I play and sound better than I really am thanks to this wonderful piano. Thanks to the fine folks at PianoCraft.

Almost a year ago I decided that it was time to get a grand piano, having taken up the piano again in retirement. I did a lot of research (online, talking to friends, talking to my teacher), and then visited a lot of dealers and played a lot of pianos. PianoCraft wasn't the first place that I visited, but once I got there it didn't take long before I realized what an amazing piano dealer this is. They have an extensive range of new and rebuilt pianos, and an exceptional staff. I bought a new Estonia piano in March, and am delighted with the instrument. It's made a major difference in my playing, and it makes gorgeous music. I don't know that I'm likely to buy another piano any time soon, but if I were, I would go straight to PianoCraft.

If you are looking for a great piano go to Piano Craft, the best store in DC metropolitan area! Large selection, affordable prices and knowledgeable staff. My students who have purchased pianos from Piano Craft are very happy and enjoy practicing on their instruments which makes me happy as a teacher! Highly recommended !

A gem of a piano store. Actually, far more than a store, as they have complete piano renovation/reconstruction capabilities - and some incredibly dedicated and thoughtful craftspeople - right there on site. I don’t know of any place like it anywhere else. I purchased a new “PianoCraft Mason & Hamlin” from them about 11 years ago, after a very long (some would say obsessive) search, including in many other cities. The folks at PianoCraft did a lot of work adjusting the piano, even though it was brand new — including getting the action to be perfectly balanced. I can’t recall everything they did, but their craftspeople put well over a hundred hours into that piano. I played a lot of other Mason & Hamlins, and a lot of other pianos in the search process, and all of their work on this piano really showed. It was “love at first playing,” and 11 years on, I am still amazed at what a beautiful instrument this is. For those of you in the DC/MD/VA area, this place is a real treasure. And added bonus: they often host intimate concerts. For those of you outside the area, it’s definitely worth a trip if you’re looking for a nice piano - whether new or refurbished.

After starting piano lessons at age 68 and with a whopping two years' worth of lessons under my belt, I made an appointment at Piano Craft to see what I could buy to replace our aging console piano, leftover from our kids' lessons 20 years earlier. It was an eye-opening experience -- complete with a fascinating tour of the shop, and the chance to tinker around as best I could with a range of baby grands both new and used. Keith steered me to a 1930s Chickering that Piano Craft had fully rebuilt about 5 years earlier and had been in climate-controlled storage most of the time since. He explained to me why that piano made more sense for someone in my situation (a couple hours' play daily) than a nearby Steinway that would need a lot of work before it could match the existing sound and condition of the Chickering. I bought it and the rest is history. Its sound is sumptuous and it's a stunning piece of furniture on top of that. Shipping was seamless (I live about 120 miles from the shop). My local piano tuner was stunned when he saw and heard how beautifully it had been rebuilt and restored. Many thanks!
