Beautiful small village blessed to stay here

Stow is a lovely wee village with a great cafe the Cloudhouse and Post office within the general store. Good train and bus links to Edinburgh and Gala. Lots of walking and cycling routes
Perhaps the most picturesque station on the reinstated Borders line, though there is perhaps a little too much fresh concrete for it to be described as quaint. Nevertheless, it still has a fairly pleasant ambiance and the view of the surrounding hills from the northbound platform is quite agreeable. Due to the location of the station on a slope, access to northbound trains is via stairs or ramp only, though the latter is fairly gentle. A large bike rack is provided on the southbound platform, as well as a small free car park.
