Well I took a drive from Osman Nagar via Outer Ring Road and it was 13 kms out of which you’ll have to pass a very bad road of about 1.5 kms which is not good for a sedan , once I reached I saw it’s under renovation so just wasted my drive as I could not even reach there , so came back just posting few pics of the lake and the drive way , they may take time May be a month or two to complete the renovation hence wait and then go. Suggestion wait till this renovation is done I am sure it would be an amazing place and recommend to go on early morning or evening time.
Nice place to hangout nearby Hyderabad. There are two parks at this place. You have to cross the dam to reach the other park. Road to the point is pretty Entry fee for park - Rs.10/person There is nominal parking fee The park over there is clean and if the climate permits, it is a good place to hang out Views of the lake are pretty There is a small food court near the point which offers you some soft drinks, wafers and some snack items
Very beautiful place in the city.
Osman Sagar was created by damming the Musi River in 1920, to provide an additional source of drinking water for Hyderabad and to protect the city after the Great Musi Flood of 1908. It was constructed during the reign of the last Nizam of Hyderabad State, Osman Ali Khan, hence the name. A princely guest house called Sagar Mahal, overlooking the lake and now a heritage building, was built as a summer resort of the last Nizam. Its location on the banks of the lake offers wonderful views. Telangana Tourism Department [1] operates a resort in the building. The breeze of the lake is very pleasant and has been popular with the locals since the Nizam's time. When Nizam consulted Sri Sir M.Visheswaraya regarding the twin problems of heavy floods in monsoon and acute shortage of water during summer, the latter designed a plan for construction of dam which needs high engineering skills in those days. This simple yet elegant solution solved both the problems for Hyderabad. It is a popular tourist destination, especially in monsoon season when the reservoir is full. Its parks, resorts, and amusement park are a major attraction. This lake had served drinking water to Hyderabad city but, due to increase in population, is not sufficient to meet the city's water supply demand.
This place have a beautiful selfie point.
