A great place to learn. It's really well located in the medieval centre of the city and close to nice things to visit. The best thing is the teaching - people who really know the language, and can help you progress.

Anyone who knows me knows that I can be a handful. To learn something I have to have all the details and understand the structure before I put together the big picture. I’m kinda like the 4-yr old who is constantly asking why. It can be frustrating and annoying for any teacher. Despite this (malgrado ) Rosita and Paola were consistently patient. They listened attentively and identified the flaws in my Italian (there were many), giving suggestions for improvement and exercises to reinforce the suggestions. The lessons were on point and they made the classes fun and interesting. I had the opportunity to meet wonderful, interesting and friendly people from all over the world, and we got to know each other better at the breaks and the weekly get togethers for dinner. Genoa is an interesting city and important historically. Christopher Columbus sailed from its Porto Antico (you can even visit his house). It’s the home of Europe’s first banks, has an amazing aquarium, and over 100 palazzi that are designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO (go in October during Rolli Days when you can get free guided tours to many of them). There’s no better combination than Amalelingue and Genoa!

I have been a language teacher for more than twenty years. I have taught people from all over the world and managed large scale language centres. So when I decided to study Italian, I was very nervous. I knew I'd be critical of the methods of teaching and very frustrated if the language course was not going to be just perfect. I visited a number of schools in Milano and Genoa before I finally chose amalelingue. When I met Rosita the first time it was clear to me that she runs the school with integrity and that students come first. I started my language course in February and did not have even one second of disappointment. The school is located in the most central and beautiful part of Genoa and both Rosita and Paola are extremely professional. They teach Italian based on the most recent theories of language teaching. They are patient, supportive and fun to work with. I loved my course at amalingue. I would recommend the school to anyone who is looking to learn a language in a professional yet relaxed environment. Thank you amalelingue!

Had a very good experience at Amalelingue! In three weeks a learned the most important things about the Italian language and I think the course gave me a strong basic to improve my Italian more and more in the future. Amalelingue is a small school, which makes it very personal with a lot of attention for what students wish to learn. Now and then they also organize activities so you can get to now the other students, which is very nice! Thanks :)

I really enjoyed learning Italian here! The location is great - I loved looking out the window and seeing the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo!- and in the center of the city. Rosita and Paola are welcoming, kind, very supportive and excellent at teaching. I felt prepared to take the CILS B2 exam with their help and would highly recommend amalelingue.
