I've been told incorrect information at this bank 3 times. One time after confirming with three different people at the this bank I lost over 500 in interest because they told me it was ok to move my money on said day and obviously its wasn't ok and lost my interest payment. 3 stokes you're out. I also sold my Scotiabank stock, I'm scared their training and incompetence will seep into other branches.
The staff and management at this branch have been incredible to deal with over the years. I would highly recommend everyone to deal with this branch. Any time there has ever been a small issue (Mistakes can happen) they have always worked diligently to correct the error.
Today I tried to transfer money to overseas, after spending almost one hour at the branch and having 4 employees involved because obviously no one knew what they were doing. I was finally told that the transfer could not be made because a draft cheque that I had deposited in my account 3 days before was not yet released. This is service at its worst!
I had the worst experience with Scotia Bank's teller in George Town. She was adversarial, racist, short, rude, ignorant and made me feel VERY uncomfortable. Since I have never been treated that way before, I took my money and business somewhere else. The bank manager apologized BUT did not even commit to provide training to his teller. Discrimination and terrible customer service thrive in Scotia Bank GT.
UPDATE: The manager is aware and is extremely diligent in his efforts to fix the problems I brought to his attention which have nothing to do with the physical branch but rather head office. Very impressed. Will be trying to shift all my banking to their location.
Had great service from the teller at the branch today.
