Did the Wild Sicily trail last week. Awesome ride with everything you expect from a good trail. Great food, lovely horses, perfect guides, lots of variety in riding and scenery, comfortable saddles (sheepskin covers) in very good state! Really recommend going here for a ride or a trail!

Absolutely loved it! Expert guides, beautiful scenery and wonderful horses :-D We explored medieval paths, through rich landscapes, to interesting towns which I would never have discovered without local knowledge. It was a unique experience to feel part of the wild and historic scenery. Two days with Ride Sicily really improved my riding - Lizzie and Alex matched my ability very well to the beautiful horse Mora, and made sure everyone felt confident and safe - by explaining the trail, showing us the best paths and clearing overhead branches when necessary. The happy well cared for horses, the stunning nature, and the brilliant guidance of Lizzie and Alex made this an unforgettable experience - 100% recommended.

This trip was the adventure of a lifetime. My husband and I (from New York City) did a 4 day "Mysterious Sicily" ride at the beginning of November. The lodging, the horses, the food and the trails were all absolutely incredible. Alex is an expert guide. He was incredibly knowledgable of the terrain, and extremely kind and accommodating. We think about the beautiful views, the magnificent horses, and Francesco's delicious picnics every day since we have been home. We can't wait to go back!!! We highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves riding. Sicily is a magical place, and Alex and Francesco are the perfect hosts.

Highly recommended. We had a really good experience with Alex at Ride Sicily. We went on a three hour ride from the home base... just the two of us with Alex. Alex is a friendly guy who clearly loves and cares for his horses. I'm a novice rider really but my Girlfriend is a pro. We were paired with very fit horses well suited to our abilities and provided with comfy saddles, hats and chaps. We went out for at least 3 hours on a big circuit around the hills with good views, some fast canters and lots of good nature talk from Alex. He really knows his stuff and also made sure I was ok as the novice in the group. It made me really want to come back for a longer multi day ride in the future. Also Alex gave us loads of hints and tips for the rest of our stay in Sicily which have been useful.

Just had a fantastic week with Ride Sicily. Alex is an exceptional guide with a vast wealth of knowledge, the horses are beautiful and so responsive and well schooled, the picnic lunches supplied by Francesco are delicious, all the accommodation visited on the trail was clean, comfortable and relaxing, the breakfasts and evening meals everywhere we stopped were vast and unbelievably delicious. The days started with laughter and ended with laughter. The whole experience in such a beautiful country with such varying terrain is one I will most definitely be repeating. I thoroughly recommend you visit Ride Sicily, you will not be disappointed.

We had a fantastic week with Alex and Lizzie in the first week of October, doing the MAdonie trail. The trail was brilliantly planned, with beautiful varied landscape dotted with interesting historic towns. We were paired with lovely, fit well cared for horses making the riding fun, and Alex was very knowledgable about the regions we were riding through. Every lunchtime we stopped to find that Giovanni had set up a delicious picnic! And the accommodation and evening meals were well chosen too. Lizzie and Alex were perfect hosts, and couldn't do enough to make our holiday as relaxing as possible. We're thinking of going back for one of the other trails in the future!

I had one of my big adventures in my life a few weeks ago. One week in the saddle in Madonie park, south of Cefalù. Everything from the riding experience to the visit into a part of Sicily I otherwise probably not would have seen. Everything went according to my high expectations. The riding was challenging but very satisfying. The horses were very sure footed an a dream to ride. The environment changed from small villages, bush and open landscape up to 1900 meters above sea level. More than 150 km and 40 hours in the saddle in six days was the total outcome. Every day Alex impressed with love, skills and knowledge about Sicily, Madonie park, the trees, flowers, animals, rock and landscape which gave a great added value to our expedition. Lizzie supported us perfectly with our luggage, our meals and was a great host for us. We had some very great conversations during our meals and I ordered several books about Sicily during our travel that waited for me when I came home. Still eager to learn more. The seeds planted by Lizzie and Alex. Thanks! "Alex and Lizzie are a fabulously creative, attentive and competent team" my co-rider Gina wrote . I second that 100%. I will start dreaming about coming back to RideSicily.

Recently returned from the Madonie Trail Ride, and in every aspect the ride exceeded expectations. Riding this trail with Alex and Lizzie is one of the great experiences of my life. The horses were sure-footed and willing; the terrain and scenery were varied and vistas were gloriously stupendous; the food was excellent, authentic and (too) plentiful; and lodgings offered real hospitality at the end of the day’s ride. On this trip Alex was the guide and his knowledge of Sicily was astounding: the topography, the fauna, the history and culture –– I could go on and on. One of the great unexpected pleasures of the tour were the great and ranging conversations that our group had at virtually every meal, and sometimes on the trail. Lizzie, the other organizer, deftly managed the myriad of off-the-trail logistics, including truly memorable picnics along the way. Alex and Lizzie are a fabulously creative, attentive and competent team. This said, I want it clear that the horses always came first, as they should. Kudos to Brina, Siria, and especially my Apollo.
