Dr. David A Rodriguez is very experienced and knowledgable. He did a great job at American Spine until all of the legal troubles with Dr. Atif Malik - owner of American Spine and indictment per google on DOJ releases and Frederick newspaper articles, etc in June. I believe this is the real reason why Dr. David Rodriguez left American Spine to get a new job at Smart Pain Management. Dr. David Rodriguez may not want to be associated with American Spine because of Dr. Malik, but he is. The behavior is what I am paying attention to as I know Dr. Rodriguez well, good and bad. I would not recommend going to Smart Pain Management or Dr. Rodriguez. He needs to be the one in charge like at American Spine. Smart Pain Management pays too much attention to the textbook reality rather than the individual reality. Dr. Rodriguez failed to consider the human realty of the switch to morphine and crude reduction of the Percocet. The body knows the difference, esp after 7 years of taking the same medicine. While Dr. Rodriguez could be inflexible at American Spine, he was his own person there regardless of the "guidelines" Smart Pain Management would be better served to focus on the ability to handle patients when adapting to new medication after long term use of another and not personally attack the patient, which they did me. I just think the situation at American Spine with Dr. Malik and the bad company management at Smart Pain Management made this a horrible experience. Dr. Rodriguez is not his own person at Smart Pain Management in my opinion.
