We had a WONDERFUL experience at Maisor! It's a family-owned business that is dedicated to offering their clients the highest quality products possible. The workshop was so much fun! It took place in their store which is located down by the marina in Getaria, a charming town just 20 minutes drive from San Sebastian. In this same space they carefully elaborate all their own products which are sourced locally and responsibly. We learned about the history of the company which included background on the fishing industry in the region. Ainhoa, who gave us the workshop, was fabulous and showed us the different Maisor products and then taught us how to peel and package the anchovies. We tried our hand at it, and they even let us keep our final product! Afterwards we sampled the different products outside the store which has lovely views onto the harbor and enjoyed some local beer, txakoli and sidra. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone who loves food and is looking for a unique activity in the Basque Country.

Conservas de gran calidad aunque algo más caras que otras de la zona de nivel similar. Lo que resulta deficiente es la atención al cliente. La mujer que atiende el negocio carece de la formación y simpatía que se entiende obligatoria para trabajar cara al público. Incluso aconseja visitar el bar que hay en la esquina. Inexplicable.

Muy buenas anchoas tanto en salazón como en vinagre. A mi la mujer que atiende me pareció muy amable. Nos explicó todo lo que le preguntamos y nos recomendó la mejor opción para lo que buscábamos.

Sense dubte la millor experiència que pots tenir com a manufacturador d'anxoves de qualitat a Getaria. Vam anar dissabte al matí, i bé és cert que la climatologia acompanyà cosa que embelleix l'experiència, la pondera. Arribats al matí, Ainhoa ens estava esperant per a començar el taller on va començar l'explicació fent-nos cinc cèntims sobre el per què Maisor i Getaria per a després passar ja cap a la part més tècnica on vam aprendre la complexitat que té fer quelcom que sembla tant fàcil a simple vista. Una vam acabar el taller la casa proposa un "hamaiketako", un piscolabis on pots degustar no només les anxoves, producte referència de la casa, sinó també bonítol, seitons i d'altres productes locals que acompanyen (tot increïble, s'ha de dir!) com Txakolí de Getaria. En definitiva, una experiència totalment recomanable, d'aprenentatge de la tradició de la zona a mans de gent encantadora. Un plaer haver-hi anat, sense dubte hi tornaria amb els ulls tancats!
