Hokkien mee is great and satay is awesome!!! don't bother about the squid.... it's overpriced, tough and tasteless

Awesome food! Be prepared to wait around 30min. Love that they used thin bee hoon which absorbs all the favours better. Photo shows the 10 portion

Simply excellent hokkien mee, easily considered within the top 4 of my personal connoisseur list. I ordered two patters of 10 for my family and it was just right. The generous usage of lard combined with their signature stock with the use of charcoal heat imparts a hard to achieve signature wok hei unami taste. The dish is on the wet side and the noodles are beautifully coated. My meal was prepared by the old master son and he has acquired the old man's skill very well i would say. Love the old world "Saigon " charm of the place. Makes for a good spot for a lazy afternoon of beer drinking.

Good fried hokkien mee with pork satay. With fully wak hee mee and caramelized skewer.

A really decent plate of Hokkien mee but it’s not something that I would travel to eat on a frequent basis... Also rather pricey as compared to the average price of hkm everywhere else. One might say that they give more prawns and squid but are these things really the highlight of the dish? Pork belly satay worth a try as well but 1.5 for a stick again seems like a rip off

Enjoyed this plate of hokkien mee as it was on the dryer side and uses mainly thick yellow noodles (versus bee hoon). For 2 pax, I decided to order a 10 portion to share instead of 2 6 portions. Slightly caught off guard as the plate and noodle portion only felt slightly more than the 6 portion another friend ordered. If you’re in for the noodles, probably order the 6 portion instead.

Rating: #美食金 #jiak Geylang Lorong 29 Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee #芽笼29巷福建面 @ 396 East Coast Road (Marine Parade) Recommend: Anything cooked with Charcoal . Charcoal Surf Dialect Noodle (my copyright dish name for their charcoal fried hokkien mee) takes hokkien prawn noodles to a whole new dimension. . In every mouth, you can taste their charcoal infused "wok hey" noodles soaked in wet wet sticky sticky gravy (黏黏的感觉). Firm and succulent seafood (prawns and squids) ingredients just levels up the hawker dish. The only pity their chilli did not make the mark to create a spicy blend, otherwise this will be my only hokkien mee stall to patronise. . Heavenly Charcoal taste in every bite Quality firm prawns and squids Hot and wet dish makes you go wild . They have a few outlets and I went to the East Coast one. Beside their stall, they also sell satay which I am a big fan. Definitely will be back for more! . About the oyster/prawn omelette, what about it? That's my review lor

Delicious! Full of charcoal smell and the wok hey. Prawns are big and fresh! The oysters are huge and fresh too! Would prefer spicier chilli sauce though.
