2013: Being away from home, this outlet serving authentic Assamese cuisine has been embraced with open arms in Lajpat Nagar. After relocating from its previous location, this place has become more spacious and the service has improved. The food too has experienced an upgrade, right from the dal, aloo pitika, chatnis to the fried rice and khorikas. The payokh is great. The size of the chicken/duck/pork pieces they serve in their thalis can definitely see better days though and the khar is average with more soda bicarbonate thrown in than is required. The khorikas stand out. The betel-nut leaves served at the end of the meal is a great way to provide a complete Assamese experience. Bihu songs always lift one's spirits. Overall, true to the restaurant's name, a homely meal indeed. 2018: Tried out their food after a gap of 4 years and I was disappointed. Ordered in a Pork Curry with Lai Xaak for lunch and did not like it. The deal breaker for me was the uncooked pieces of pork : they were hard to tear apart and slightly still pink in the middle. Also, the size of the pieces were really small relative to the price of the same. They have changed their menu and prices and the quality of food has undoubtedly gone down. The curry itself was not up to the mark as the lai xaak itself was not cooked properly and were raw; must have been just thrown into a pre cooked curry. My money was totally a waste. Also the guy who first picked up the call insisted I order from Swiggy so that they could collect a delivery charge. Read: within a kilometre. When I rose the small distance, only then they agreed to me placing the order directly. The delivery time was more than an hour and for uncooked pork, that sure is not credible service.

Ethinic Assamese Taste....Good Quality Food.....Well maintained Hygiene... "Feel of Assam in Delhi"
Good place to have authentic Assamese cuisines. Nice ambiance, they also have general north india menu. Totally a good place to hangout with friends.
Authentic assamese food. Everything was good. Duck fry and kheer were best. Loved the assamese atmosphere.
The food quality has gone worse than before There was no ac facility there neither fan it was so hot there u can’t even have food there... I m very unhappy with service and food....
The quality of the food has remained the same. I just guess the Gharua Exaj of old where it was surrounded by Assamese culture is still missed. You can call it a cafe or make it look funky but in the end, the people who come here wants to feel the culture of Assam. Be it someone from the state or someplace else. Just embrace the culture of the state again.
A lot of things were missing. We went for the taste of a homely meal but most things described in the menu were missing in reality. The washroom was unclean. The staff was however very polite and the served food tasted good.
