22 dogs perished from heat exhaustion or possible suffocation here because they were kept in a 9x10 foot room together. The owners had left town for a vacation, leaving the animals that they were responsible for in the care of Austin Flake, Senator Flake's son, and informed many of the owners that their dogs had run away after the dogs had perished instead of telling them the truth. The owners of the dogs had to contact the County Sheriff's department in order to get the truth and claim the bodies of their lost loved ones. No vet was ever contacted for any of these dogs, and only one of the dogs' owners was told the truth about what had happened to his dog. A dog named Shadow was severely injured and needed to see an emergency vet as a result of chemical burns from unknown causes after staying here a week before this happened. The owner was never contacted, and the wounds became infected. He returned home covered in paint with his paw swollen and injuries all over his body. Fortunately, Shadow is making a good recovery. The same cannot be said of a Sheltie who had to be put down due to severe illness and heat stroke less than a week after staying at Green Acres. Other dog owners are reporting that their dogs suffered extreme dehydration and appeared drugged or "out of it" after being picked up earlier than planned. Never, ever take your pet here. The owner has lied to many dog owners. The dogs' owners inspected the place before boarding their beloved pets there, and were never shown this room. They did their full due diligence in attempting to be sure that their canine family members would be well cared for. The owners of Green Acres claimed that they didn't take more than 6 or 7 dogs at a time. They had 28 dogs in their care, not including their own, when 22 of those dogs died. One escaped and was later killed by a car, making the death toll from this one event a total of 23.

If you care about your pet than I urge you not to take them to this business! The owner Meleisa Hughes has been known for money grubbing. To begin with she has taken advantage of the Mormon church financial assitance more than once. She also made absurd false accusations against coworkers and sued the company she worked for in 2011. Recently in July, she went on vacation while still running her Dog Boarding business leaving her daughter and son-in-law over seeing it. They continued to take in dogs with Meliesa's approval. The pet owners were told the dogs would be well cared for and kept in the open yard. After the owners left the dogs were placed all together in a small room with no air unit. Over 21 dogs sufficated in the hot room. The Meliesa, her husband, her daughter & son-in-law have been indicted.

I cant understand how this is allowed to happen and how they are not prosecuted, personally if they did this to my dog, id guarantee they would not be in a posision to do it to another because id see it it they would be in the same situation as the animals they made suffer, how anyone hasent beaten the living daylights out of these ppl is beyond me!

This place should not be in business.

Sadly while many dogs have lost their lives, this place remains open. Over 20 dogs have been killed here. And they are still trying to run the business.
