Very sad to write this review. We had a great experience getting my grandmother (90 years old!!) a set of hearing aids. Rechargeable, Bluetooth, high end (ReSound). Cost a total of 5800 (all her expense). Fast forward three years, the rechargeable batteries quit recharging. Took them in to be fixed (5 year manufacturers warranty) and Gilbert’s said they would have to send them in. Manufacturer sent back the hearing aids with non-rechargeable batteries. The recharging function was THE function my grandmother was looking for as she’s 90 and can’t change the tiny batteries. Gilbert’s tells her there’s nothing they can do, the company went out of business. They could “sale her a new pair that does recharge from a different manufacturer for only 3000, cheapest we’d be willing to go”. I am perplexed. I looked up ReSound and it didn’t go out of business. Gilbert’s was so helpful when my grandmother went initially and now they don’t care. It’s such a shame to see a company treat their patients/clients so poorly. Especially someone who’s 90! Stand by the products you sale, or don’t sale them. I understood the predicament Gilbert's was put in. However, as a small business owner myself, if the manufacturer of a product I sale doesn't match the original features of the product through their warranty system I make it right myself and find a replacement for my customer. At my cost if necessary. It's good, ethical business practice.

When I bought my 5800 hearing aids, Don Gilbert told me I could use them to talk on the phone. He was wrong. That only works with an extra pinned on my clothing. They gave me the device begrudgingly, but it is not what I was told and I do not like to use it. I was also told that they would supply free batteries. Last week I was told that they no longer do this because it costs them money. I am sure it cost money to supply batteries when the promise was made, so I think it's wrong to discontinue the policy. I will not go there again.

My mother has been going here for her hearing aid services. She recently went to see Don Gilbert for a new hearing aid mold. He apparently injected far too much molding material into her ear and impacted her ear canal so badly it couldn't be removed. She first went to urgent Care and they could not help her. She then went to an ENT and ended up needing surgery to remove it all. This included an incision behind her ear under general anesthesia. We are still waiting for the packing to be removed to make sure there is no further hearing loss. This is a common and basic procedure gone horribly wrong and I don't feel he should be in practice any longer if he can't perform even this basic procedure safely. I can't speak for the competency of the other audiologists in this practice, but I would proceed with caution. This has been a nightmare that no one should have to endure! And he hasn't even called to check on her. Shameful.
