Had a hellish experience with Roydens Ltd. a few years back. Found the car I liked, paid and arranged collection. On collection I got into my new car and was about to drive it off the forecourt when I noticed a light on the dash. I know very little about cars so called over one of the members of staff and he assured me it was where the exhaust had been modified and was not being registered by the on board computer as an original part. It was nothing to worry about apparently. I drove my new car home (about 3 miles down the road) and then was out all day so didn't get back into the car until the next morning. Thought I'd take my new car for a spin down to Bluewater. A few miles down the motorway there a horrific sound followed by the entire dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree and loss of power (luckily I managed to get it into the hard shoulder). The first phone call I made was to Roydens. I was told as I didn't have any break down cover arranged I'd have to get the car back to them at my own expense. They gave me a number of the garage that they use for all their repairs etc so I called it and was picked up. When I returned back to the garage the mechanic opened up the bonnet and said that the cam belt had shredded to pieces and it snapping had basically chewed up my engine. An expensive repair job I was told. I told Roydens I wanted my money back. I was told to wait until the mechanic had assessed the car. I was phoned back a couple of days later by someone at Roydens who asked if I would be willing to pay half the repair bill. I refused and told them I wanted full refund. To cut a very long story short they continued to stall with a refund and after weeks of going between Roydens and Trading standards I eventually got a refund. Would NEVER use this company again or recommend to anyone!

STAY CLEAR OF THIS GARAGE! Very misleading you drive away in your shiny new car feeling over the moon with your promised 'warranty' Had the car two months and already paid out for it because of course any problem isnt covererd in the 'warranty' And here we are now finding the money to get the car fixed for the 3rd time this month! Like hell did they actually service the car before buying..
very bizarre sales team after finally finding a salesman in the service area i was given the keys to look over a 8000 vauxhall Insignia i was very interested in ,after 20 minutes i had to track the salesman down again to talk about buying it .i asked for a test drive and was told they don't allow it unless you are 100% buying the car i explained i would not agree to buy a coat without trying it on first but it made no difference .i was a cash buyer and to add insult to injury they offered less for my 58 plate vectra than the lowest price i had seen for a 56 plate . all in all unless you go there to take out an expensive HP contract they are not interested would recommend avoiding the place.daft thing was i was going to buy it but will go else-place now
