Last weekend was my third time to volunteer at Anchor. This place provides lots of opportunities for youth and young adults to volunteer. It's a great place with a very relaxing atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of the city. And if you're looking for fun activities, there are lots of fun things to do like canoeing, kayaking, biking, volleyball, and bubble soccer. All suitable for all ages. P.S. I took this photo early in the morning from Anchor's restaurant.

Our church had our annual retreat at this venue and we enjoyed it a lot. The setting was beautiful, with a river that runs through the property, meals were always on time, and there were bathrooms in every room. The staff were also very accommodating to address our needs and concerns. Maintenance of the facilities could improve bit more but that did not prevent us from having a good time here.
Our group did have a fantastic retreat despite their combinations. However it is clear that the management of this retreat center has deteriorated over the past couple years here are some examples. There are many broken things such as chairs, door handles, faucets, walls, outdoor furniture, sunshades, walkways, boats etc. Here are a few things that happen to us. The children's play area had a wasp nest so our group was bitten a few times. The filtered water from their well isn't actually filtered and at least four of us got diarrhea. Obviously someone before us had diarrhea because that was what was clugged in the toilet when we arrived. While they were fixing it, it overflowed and leaked into our friends room below us. The grounds also looked disheveled and many of the stones and tiles outdoors have not been repaired. I also saw the largest thistle I have ever seen. It was 5 ft tall. The food was average. we will ask how organizers to choose a new venue next year.
We used this centre for a week with multiple families and children (ages 0-12years). This centre was remarkable! The staff and volunteers were welcoming and accommodating. The facilities were clean and modern. The food was delicious, always cooked well and we never went hungry. Even the coffee was incredible! Every family had their own room, En-suite bathroom. There's a beach within a 3 minute drive, the water equipment was so much fun! We can't wait to go back and enjoy this centre again!
New Birth Tabernacle of Brampton, Ontario held its 3rd Annual women’s retreat the last weekend of Sept 2018 at this retreat centre. It was an awesome venue with very hospitable staff. My only criticism is that all beds were bunk beds which was a challenge for some of our ladies including myself. For the future Incorporating some single beds would make this venue accessible to a wider audience, and we would definitely use again. Thank you so much. God bless you all
