Nice place for a walk around the lake and a visit to the orangeri where the garden is lovely and so is the inside plant house and small shop - that made the visit worth it! The host, food and tea was great. We had the afternoon tea.

A wonderful castle with such beautiful garden. Can easily walk around the ground for more than 2-3 hours.

Gisselfeld is best described as \hyggeligt\. The castle is beautiful, although it's not as striking as the others I have seen around Denmark. It's only the old stables that is open for public so it's a little bit disappointing not being able to see the castle interior. The place boasts a vast land estate though -- a beautiful landscape featuring barren hills, wheat fields, lush forest and lakes. Walking around the estate grounds is very cozy, close to dreamy. The Parade House is spectacular with its selection of unique and rustic looking vases, ornamental plant species, garden decors, etc.. It has a cafe where you can buy snack while taking a break and a shop where you can buy souvenirs. The castle staff is nice and very accommodating. All in all, it's a nice place to take beautiful photos and do nature walk. Other than that, there really is nothing else to do. We went there on a summer day and we were surprised to see there was not much people around.

Definitely not worth the 60kr entrance to just wander around the gardens ... Can't even go inside the 'castle'. Also, the toilets are incredibly dirty. Don't waste your money!

Unique monastery and beautiful surroundings! However, the entry ticket is unfortunately waaaaay to expensive. The reason why we haven’t been there more than ones is solely because of the price. I know there are maintenance costs, but keeping the prices that high also lowers the amount of visitors and in the end the income of the area.

Beautiful park to stroll around in. The shop and the cafe is not the reason to come here though.

Great place for a wonder around the garden. Fabulous Paradehuset (Parade House). Also possible to buy plants or have a cup of tea in the new café.

Absolutely wonderful setting and a beautiful Christmas market. Last star would be for lowering the price of 110 per person for entrance (during the Christmas market).
