Wheelchair-accessible car park
This is a Very special Beach in my eyes as it is a seaglunkers paradise, sea glass in abundance including Seaham Bubbles, multis, a vast rainbow of colours in a range of shapes and sizes. It is very easily accessible from both large free carparks for able bodies and wheelchair users but even though the beach is shale, pebbles and sand which isn't as easily accessible by wheelchair users, it does have a great flat path at the base of the cliffs from one end to the other with ramps from the car parks.

Make sure of the tides. Low tide lots of beach, sand pebbles, stones, flotsam, dogs and people. High tide not much beach but there is a promenade. There are no date restrictions on dogs that I know of. The beach is very popular. There are 2 extensive car parks above the beach. One of which is definitely free, not sure of the other.
Magical experience on this Beach. The overflow of land water cascades down the sand and beautiful stones into the sea after a downpour of rain. The sounds and site of this plus the waves is amazing.
Sea glass and drift wood area of interest. Lovely place to walk and relax. Plenty places for an ice cream, fish and chips and parking. Every car park I’ve used has been free parking.
Nice place to visit any time of the year lovely walks and ice cream parlour in the marina .Take care when bathing in the warmer weather dangerous cross currents and rocke beneath the surface
