Even in winter it is stunning The park is gorgeous and trail is not hard to tackle Sand dunes look better in the summer, but it is easier to walk on them now

Such an amazing experience each and every time I go! This time my friends and I explored spirit sands and the devils punch bowl. Although we missed the fall Colors by a week or so, it was still beautiful! The 'stairs' in the sands havent been lifted recently and we tried to help out with doing that, succeeding only with the lower few. Lots of places to atop along the way for breaks for those who need, and also at least one bathroom along the way!

Gorgeous park with beautiful hiking trails, especially near Spirit Sands. Campgrounds are smallish but well maintained. Bathrooms and outhouses are dotted through the park in a few convenient locations, and even the outhouses are relatively clean and sturdy. The interpretive centre was closed when I visited, but it looks like a good facility. There's also a small outdoor amphitheatre at the interpretive centre that looked like a good place for a small play or something. Spirit Sands showcases several landscapes you wouldn't think you'd see in Manitoba: a sandy desert, rolling hills, and a colour-changing pond in the bottom of a valley. The hiking in this park (at least in Spirit Sands) is absolutely stunning, and because a lot of the trails are sand, it's quite a good workout.
